Encrypted File Sharing & Key Management

Founded in 2008 with Matt Fanto and others, Aegis Data Security was envisioned as a secure file sharing solution that in-housed key management for customers.  Starting out as a PHP application, it quickly evolved into a C#/MVC solution with an application at each end-point that enabled easy sharing of files with keys being shared securely and transparently.  I took on the role as lead UI/UX developer and business strategist within the organization for all iterations of the product.

As time progressed, Aegis Data Security pivoted into a web-based version of the application called Aegis Defender utilizing C#/MVC and publishing into the early versions of Microsoft Azure.  Key sharing was still done securely and each user was assigned their own keys, sidenote: if this was built in 2015 we could have utilized Amazon CloudHSM with great success!
